With the establishment of major institutions and companies here, Vienna’s second district along Lassallestraße (Lassalle Street) has been upgraded as a result of urban development. Beginning at the major traffic hub Praterstern (Prater Junction) and continuing along Lassallestraße, the area has seen total renovation of the northern train station grounds, as well as high density construction including administrative buildings, the headquarters for Uni Credit and buildings for IBM, OMV, the Vienna University for Economics and Business Administration, and the associated buildings and infrastructure for students.
