Getreidegasse

Getreidegasse is the heart of Salzburg’s inner city. Known for their architecture, the buildings in Getreidegasse feature wonderful elegant entrances and windows that become smaller above the first floor. The historic buildings are often inscribed with their year of construction, names of former residents, or a God’s Eye. The birth house of Amadeus Mozart is a real tourist attraction at house number 9. Salzburg’s boy-wonder was born here in 1756.

The variety in renters has grown historically in Getreidegasse, and today you can find luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton as well as mass market brands like Mango and H&M. Getreidegasse is renowned for its tourism – not only during the Summer Festival, but also during Christmas and Easter Holidays.
